CMC Confined Space Rescue Technician Manual
The CMC School's restricted space rescue courses are taught using material from the CMC Confined Space Rescue Technician Manual. It is the preferred training manual for fire departments and industrial rescue teams around the country and the official textbook for the state-certified confined space rescue courses offered by the California State Fire Marshal. For the second edition, every chapter has been updated and expanded, and three new chapters—Communications, High Point Anchor Systems, and Permitting Confined Spaces—have also been added. For better clarity, color has been added to the majority of the more than 150 images.
The teachers at CMC have acknowledged authorities in confined space entrance and rescue operations. Their input into the revision of this manual ensures that it contains the most useful, current knowledge on the following topics: laws and regulations for confined space entry; formation of a rescue team; assessment and preparation for entry; organization of emergency response; monitoring for and management of atmospheric and other hazards; rescue equipment; and patient transport.
